& Shine 2003 Draws Record Crowd!
the sun shone on the BMW and Mini enthusiasts who came to feast
their eyes on a bevy of beautiful Bimmers at Bavarian Autosport's
annual Show & Shine event, held this past Sunday, October 5. The
parking area, which holds 350 cars, was filled to capacity before
noon. Late arrivers parked along both sides Constitution Avenue,
the mile-long road in front of Bavarian's headquarters, as well
as in neighboring lots. An estimated 2,100 people were in attendance.
By all accounts, Show & Shine is the largest BMW-only event in North
|Show & Shine
is a friendly, "people's choice" competition in which attendees vote
for their favorite BMWs. Trophies and prizes are awarded in three
categories: Best Interior (a set of Bilstein shocks and Bavarian Autosport
performance springs), Best Exterior (a Zymol Concours car care set
and $250 AC Schnitzer gift certificate) and Best of Show (Bavarian
Autosport Tri-Flo exhaust and Bavarian Autosport performance chip).

Show: Tod Bryant and his 1970 2800cs
Anthony Hatrick and his 2001 325ci
Richard Roche of
Tombstone, Arizona, received the Farthest Traveled award, a
Hirschmann hands-free cell phone kit.
Matthew Laurin and his 1996 318ti
|In the vendor tent, attendees
were able to chat with representatives from Remus exhaust, Tri-Flo
exhaust, Pagid brake pads, K&N filters, PIAA, Sachs, Boge, Mintex
brake pads, Bosch, Covercraft, PhatNoise, Hella, Absorber, Lexol and
the day, thousands of dollars worth of BMW upgrades and gear was given
away in a free raffle. Among the raffle items were two Colgan bras,
a Stellar keyless entry/alarm, PIAA XtremeWhite bulbs, Bavarian Autopsort
8mm ignition wires, a Bavarian Autosport pre-painted rear wing, P21S
auto care kits, Bavarian Autosport plush floor mats, and much more.
At the end of the day, two Grand Prize drawings were held to give
away a Remus sport exhaust and a Magnavox 27" color TV. In addition,
a free BBQ lunch and refreshments were available to all. In all, more
than $15,000 worth of food and
merchandise was given away.
